| Our History |
The History of the Calvary Chapel Conference Center, Twin PeaksCalvary Chapel Conference Center was built in the early 1960's. It was a Resort/Conference Center named "The Monte Corona", which hosted conferences, workshops, seminars, and training programs. It was sold to the California Teachers Association and with its great design and unique mountain appeal, it continued as a perfect retreat, seminar, and training center. Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa bought the center from the Teachers Association in 1975 for use as a Bible College and Conference Center. During the 70's and 80's God abundantly blessed its use to spread the gospel, bless the sheep, and train up servants for the Kingdom of God. Twenty years later, both the Conference Center and the Bible College were bursting at the seams and it became apparent that God's desire was to move both ministries to a larger facility. Soon, a large facility was purchased in Murietta Hot Springs, California, and God again blessed His people as "Calvary Chapel Conference Center Murietta Hot Springs" opened it's doors. In the fall of 1996, the Bible College moved from Twin Peaks to the new facility and Twin Peaks seamed quiet and still. But not for long! In 1997, God again desired to bless as the Twin Peaks facilities were reopened as a retreat center. For over three years it continued hosting retreats for adults and youth overflowing from the youth camp in Green Valley Lake. By this time, however, it was in need of major renovation and it seemed as if it was a better idea to sell the facility. But, once again God desired to bless the flock, and in 2000, a massive remodel project was begun. Finally, on August 17, 2001 the doors of the newly renovated Conference Center in Twin Peaks were reopened. A sign at the Front office in the lobby read: "Welcome to Calvary Chapel Conference center Twin Peaks, with God all things are possible." |
